Fodor’s Touts Birmingham
The Civil Rights Institute and the 16th Street Baptist Church represent the Civil Rights heritage that Fodor’s lists among reasons to visit Birmingham this fall.
Fodor’s, one of the premier guides for travelers, recommends Birmingham as among the top 14 destinations in the world this fall, one of only five in the United States.
It’s a chance to reflect on the city’s civil rights heritage, the guide says, including an exhibition of works by photographer Dawoud Bey on display at the Birmingham Museum of Art. The show runs through December 2.
The guide also gives a nod to the city’s new Westin Hotel and the Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve.
