AG asks House to suspend impeachment probe of governor

A legislative impeachment investigation of Alabama's governor is being suspended at the request of the state attorney general, who is conducting a separate investigation. Attorney General Luther Strange sent a letter to the House Judiciary Committee saying it would be "prudent and beneficial" if the panel suspended its investigation until his staff completes its probe. – ABC

USS Montgomery suffers crack in hull during Panama transit

The USS Montgomery littoral combat ship was damaged Oct. 29 while transiting the Panama Canal, the U.S. Naval Institute reported this week. The Austal USA-built warship was transiting to the Pacific Ocean en route to San Diego when it collided with a lock's walls, the institute reports. – UPI.com
