A month of achievements in Alabama business

Mueller celebrated production of its 4 millionth fire hydrant in July. The company also celebrated its 40th anniversary last year. Based in Tennessee, Mueller makes fire hydrants in a long-established plant in Albertville.

Alabama-based Capstone Building Corp. has received two Aurora Awards from the Southeast Building Conference for its multi-family project, 1100 South Boulevard, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The awards were in the categories of Best Multi-Family Housing Community Over 60 Density Units Per Acre and Best in State for North Carolina

AirMed International, of Birmingham, has been re-accredited by the European Aeromedical Institute. The endorsements cover Adult Critical Care and Advanced Adult Critical Care through March 2019. 

The American Heart Association’s Birmingham Board of Directors earned the silver award from the national American Heart Association for last fiscal year. 

Avadian Credit Union was recognized for its TV commercials by the 37th annual Telly Awards. FitzMartin Inc. and Outpost Pictures LLC helped create the commercials to highlight Avadian’s new name and brand. 

Baker Donelson was ranked ninth in the country on Vault’s Best Law Firms for Diversity list. Of the five categories Baker Donelson was graded on, the firm placed sixth for Diversity for Women, ninth for Diversity for Military Veterans and tenth for Diversity for Individuals with Disabilities. 

Mobile-based Beltone Hearing Aid Center owners David and Teresa Adams have been presented The President’s Cup award from Beltone. 

CFD Research Corp. has received AS9100 Rev C Certification for its Quality Management System for Aviation, Space and Defense for its Huntsville location. 

The City of Birmingham has been ranked third best city for women to start a business in 2016 by Thumbtack.

Brasfield & Gorrie Equipment & Supply has achieved Green Fleet Platinum certification from the Association of Equipment Management Professionals. 

The Birmingham chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization has been awarded the global organization’s Rock Star chapter award, the highest award for an EO chapter to receive.

Essnova, a Birmingham geospatial firm, has been certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration 8(a) Business Development program. 

The Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association has presented the 2016 Organization of the Year award to Evelyn Burrow Museum. The museum is located on the campus of Wallace State Community College. 

Southeastern Freight Lines is celebrating its 15th anniversary from its Mobile service center. The facility employs 47 associates. 

Stamp Idea Group, of Montgomery, is the recipient of the Shining Example Award for Best Marketing by the Southeast Tourism Society for its work with the Columbus, Georgia Convention & Visitors Bureau.
