A month of achievements in Alabama business

Tara Manufacturing Inc., a family owned and operated business in Owens Cross Roads, has been named the PoolCorp Vendor of the Year for 2016. Tara makes vinyl pool liners and safety covers. PoolCorp is the world’s largest distributor of pool products. 

Doster Construction received two Associated General Contractors Build Tennessee awards in March for the Tapestry at Brentwood Town Center. The awards were in the New Construction Under $30 Million category and the Community Service Award.

Burke Harvey law firm in Birmingham is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The firm has nine attorneys.

Caddell Construction Co. has won the Associated General Contractors Build America Award for the Federal & Heavy Construction category and the National Associated Builders and Contractors Eagle Award in the Pre-Engineered Buildings category. Both awards were for the Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle Hangar Complex at Camp Mackall-Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Grille 29, in Huntsville, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. 

Intermark Group has received 18 Addy Awards, including three Gold and the Best in Show for Digital/Broadcast from the American Advertising Federation Birmingham.

o2ideas won Best of Show for its Grapico 100th anniversary campaign for Buffalo Rock Co. in the American Advertising Federation Birmingham Advertising Awards. Also, o2 won 11 gold and five silver Addy awards. Rob Hardison was presented the Art Director of the Year award and Andrew Handley was awarded the Interactive Designer of the Year.

Progress Bank, for a 28th consecutive quarter, has received a 5-Star Superior rating from Bauer Financial Inc.

Regions Bank is the highest-ranked bank in the U.S. in the recently released 2017 Temkin Experience Ratings, which are compiled by the Temkin Group. Regions also tied as the fourth-highest rated company across all industries.

Robins & Morton won three National Associated Builders and Contractors Excellence in Construction Eagle Awards for Cherokee Indian Hospital, HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Cincinnati at Norwood and Duke University Medical Center Surgical Unit Renovation in Durham, North Carolina.

The Sanders Trust, a healthcare real estate development firm, was presented an Eagle Award in the Healthcare $10-$25 million category at the Associated Builders and Contractors National Excellence in Construction Awards for the development of the HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Cincinnati at Norwood.

In late March, ADTRAN shipped its 10 millionth port to network operators in the U.S. and Europe as it maximizes all available paths to ultra broadband service delivery.

U.S. News & World Report recently ranked Auburn University at Montgomery's College of Business among its top business schools across the country for its part-time Master of Business Administration program. In addition, the College of Business' BSBA in Human Resource Management was recognized by the Society fro Human Resource Management's Curriculum Guidebook and Templates.

Baker Donelson, for an eighth consecutive year, has been named one of Fortune magazine's 100 Best Companies to Work For.

Dunn Building Co. is celebrating its 139th anniversary this year. The family-owned business was started in 1878 and continues to adapt to the ever-changing construction industry.

Hoar Construction was awarded the Diamond ABC National STEP Award, a Gold ABC Alabama Safe Day Award and an Innovation in Safety Award for its Leading Indicator Program.

King's Home received a $5,000 grant from the MDRT Foundation in mid-March. The grant will help replace vans. King's Home helps women and children fleeing domestic violence, abuse and homelessness.

The TumTum Tree Foundation recently donated $375,000 to nine charities and organizations across Alabama dedicated to improving the lives of children. The donation was from the foundation's 27th annual charity wine auction weekend, which is America's longest running charity wine auction.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham Multiple Sclerosis Center was recognized as a Center for Comprehensive MS Care through the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Partners in MS Care program.
