Boeing wins first Commercial Crew order

NASA is moving forward on its plan to have American astronauts flying to the International Space Station again aboard American spaceships beginning in 2017. Some have called the back and forth flights "space taxis," but the space agency officially calls this its Commercial Crew program. NASA announced Wednesday that the first official order for a flight has gone to Boeing. – AL.com

Gambling bill on the line today

Time is about to run out for a lottery and casino bill in the Alabama Legislature. The gambling bill will be dead for the session unless it wins Senate approval Thursday. Senate President Pro Tempore Del Marsh had proposed allowing Alabamians to vote on creating a state lottery and allowing casinos at for state dog tracks. – ABC3340

Camber Corp. consolidates Florida offices

An Alabama defense contractor that has two east Orlando offices is consolidating into a building in Central Florida Research Park. Huntsville-based Camber Corp. — one of Central Florida’s top modeling and simulation firms — signed a lease for 26,816 square feet of office space at 12689 Challenger Parkway. The firm will be leaving its two other offices at 12124 High Tech Ave. and 12000 Research Parkway to move into the Challenger Tech Center IV, an 80,437-square-foot flex building, later this year. – BizJournals.com

Work starts on new Gray Construction office

Construction has begun on the historic Booker T. Washington Insurance Co. building in Birmingham that will be the future home of the Gray Construction Southeast Regional Office. Gray recently announced the purchase of the building and its plans to redevelop this anchor property in downtown Birmingham. Gray is currently located in the 2 North 20th Street Building but has outgrown this location. – News release

Redesigned 2016 Honda Pilots rolling out

Workers at Honda's Talladega County plant have celebrated another milestone: the production launch of the 2016 Pilot SUV. The redesigned vehicle is a noticeable departure from the current model. Gone is the boxy shape, and in its place is a lighter, longer and sleeker SUV with improved safety, technology and utility. – AL.com

Classmates Inc., FTD agree to restitution

Classmates Inc. (“Classmates”), along with Florists’ Transworld Delivery Inc. and FTD.com Inc. (collectively “FTD”), have agreed to pay $11 million to settle allegations that the companies engaged in misleading advertising and billing practices. This includes restitution to eligible consumers. Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange and 21 other attorneys general brought the suit. – News release
