A month of business achievements across Alabama
The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) has reaccredited Auburn University at Montgomery’s College of Business. Less than 1 percent of the world’s business schools achieve the accreditation.
The 2013 Gulf Coast Oil and Gas Awards were presented in mid-March. Total Safety, with locations in Decatur and Mobile, won for Consultancy of the Year; Dupre Logistics LLC, with locations in Birmingham, Childersburg, Demopolis and Pennington, won for Heavy Haul Trucking Company of the Year, and Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, with locations in Birmingham, Gulf Shores and Selma, won for Risk Management Provider of the Year.
APCO Employees Credit Union, of Birmingham, has been recognized by the Credit Union National Association with the 2013 Member Benefit Top Performance Award.
Hadley Binion Designs has been awarded two Silver Addy awards from the annual American Advertising Awards for its work with Roberts Brothers of Mobile.
Hargrove Engineers + Constructors, of Mobile, has received two safety awards from the Alabama Associated General Contractors. The firm won the Safety Excellence Award for 2013 and Hargrove teammate Sonny Weeks won the 2013 Safety Leader of the Year.
Linde LLC, a member of The Linde Group, has received certification of its Birmingham air separation plant under the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care program.
BTI Consulting Group has ranked Maynard Cooper & Gale’s Insurance Practice as one of the top six in the country in its “BTI Client Relationship Scorecard 2014: Ranking Law Firm Client Relationships.” The ranking is based on a survey of more than 500 corporate counsel at Fortune 1000 companies.
Motion Industries, of Birmingham, has received a 2013 MRO Supplier of the Year award in the Other Goods and Services category from PepsiCo. Motion was specifically cited for implementing a site Cost Savings Blitz, initiating tracking and repair processes and identifying site savings as a result of a sustainability project.
Regions Bank tied for eighth overall in the 2014 Temkin Experience Ratings compiled by customer experience research and consulting firm Temkin Group. The rankings included 268 companies across 19 industries. Regions was the highest-ranked bank in the annual survey.
The Society for Human Resource Management has awarded the Mobile SHRM Chapter the Excel Silver Award for 2013.
O2Ideas, of Birmingham, is celebrating its 47th year in business by unveiling a new agency website and social media presence.
Turner Insurance & Bonding Co., of Montgomery, has been selected as one of 28 agencies on CAN’s 2014 Construction Leader Board. CAN is the country’s eighth largest commercial insurance writer and 13th largest property and casualty company.
VMR Agency, of Daphne, took home the Public Relations Council of Alabama Judge’s Choice Award for its public relations campaign for the 59th annual Greater Gulf State Fair at The Grounds. The agency also took home an Award of Excellence for an event with Fairhope Brewing Co. and two Medallion Awards.
Vulcan Materials Co.’s Manassas Quarry has received an Excellence in Community Relations Gold Award from the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association for its Adopt-A-School programs with four area schools.
Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles PC has been selected for inclusion on the National Law Journal's Plantiffs Hot List. The magazine will highlight two cases successfully argued by the firm from between Feb. 1, 2013 and Jan. 21, 2014.
Boeing has earned its fourth consecutive year of recognition from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in its Energy Star program. Boeing is one of 16 Energy Star Partners of the Year for 2014.
Southern Business & Development magazine named the City of Montgomery to its list of 10 shining examples of economic development in the South. The city was cited for being home to Maxwell Air Force Base and Air University, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, the nation's no. 1 magnet high school and one of the top 10 largest Shakespeare theaters in the world.
Deep Target Inc. announced that over the last six months, the firm's technology has been chosen by 41 financial institutions across the country. Deep Target will help these new customers with targeted digital marketing strategy and deployment.
Two Alabama contractors ranked among the top ten healthcare general contractors in the nation in a listing compiled by Modern Healthcare. Brasfield & Gorrie ranked second, with 2013 revenues of $1.01 billion. Hoar Construction ranked ninth.
Brasfield & Gorrie also earned honors from Waste Management — its 2013 Sustainability Circle of Excellence award — for ranking among firms that diverted the highest total tonnage for recycling. Brasfield achieved an 89 percent diversion rate in 2013.
Samford University's Cumberland School of Law was once again ranked among the top 10 in U.S. News and World Report's 2014 list of schools with the best programs in trial advocacy training. Cumberland tied for sixth place.
SCA, with operations in Barton, has been recognized as a 2014 World's Most Ethical Company by the Ethisphere Institute. This is the seventh year the hygiene and forest products company has been named to the global list.
Southeast Alabama Medical Center was the site of the Wiregrass region's first robotic assisted thorax surgery in February, performed by cardiothoracic surgeon Elias Quintos of Southeast Cardiovascular Associates.
Wallace State Community College in Hanceville was recognized by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations for its "Hot Jobs" television advertisement series during its annual Medallion Awards presentation.
