The Hilton Garden Inn Mobile East Bay/Daphne was presented the 2012 Pride Merit Award, ranking it as third among Hilton Garden Inn’s 560 hotels worldwide. The 124-room hotel opened in 2004 and was ranked based on quality assurance audits, customer scores rating staff service and quality of the hotel’s physical accommodations.

Electricfil, an automotive tier 1 supplier, has cut landfill waste at its Elkmont plant by 97 percent, garnering the Alabama Technology Network’s 2012 Alabama E3 Environment Award. The plant reduced energy usage more than 600,000 kilowatts per year, reduced related CO2 emissions by 800,000 pounds and dropped landfill bound waste to less than 4 yards per week.
Fite Building Co. and Hoar Construction both have projects recognized by the Associated Builders and Contractors national competition. Hoar was presented Pyramid awards for its work on St. Vincent’s St. Clair Hospital in Pell City and Medical Center Enterprise Obstetrics addition. Fite earned the Eagle award for the rebuilding of the Independence Tube Phoenix facility in Decatur.
