Established in 1895, Huntsville Hospital is the 2nd largest hospital in Alabama. Serving as the regional referral center for north Alabama and southern Tennessee, Huntsville Hospital provides advanced trauma, emergency, cardiac, surgical, medical, maternity, and pediatric care to approximately 1 million residents in the Tennessee Valley, and is proud to be one of only 3 dedicated pediatric hospitals in Alabama. We are community-owned and governed by the Health Care Authority of the City of Huntsville. In recent years, we have expanded our services in the region with the development of the Huntsville Hospital Health System, which includes hospitals in Madison, Athens, Decatur, Sheffield, Red Bay, and Moulton. Huntsville Hospital Health System is now the 3rd largest publicly owned hospital system in the nation with more than 1,800 licensed beds, 13,000 employees, and over 1,100 practicing physicians.
