Panel considers Judge Fuller’s fate

Federal District Judge Mark E. Fuller was controversial even before he was arrested on allegations of beating his wife last year. The Alabama judge was criticized for sitting on cases brought by the government even as his aviation company was getting hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayer-funded business. Renasant to increase Alabama presence

Renasant Corp. has received federal approval to complete its acquisition of Heritage Financial Group Inc. — a deal that will give Mississippi-based Renasant a greater presence in Alabama. UA business school moves up in rankings

The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Commerce/Manderson Graduate School of Business MBA program rose 16 spots from last year, landing at number 58 in the 2016 U.S. News rankings. The College ranks 31st among public schools and is fifth in the SEC, up one spot from last year. – UA News

Lockheed Martin, IERUS honored

Lockheed Martin said it and Huntsville-based IERUS Technologies Inc. have received the prestigious Nunn-Perry Award from the Department of Defense. First Tuskegee Bank purchased

A minority-owned New Orleans bank has bought First Tuskegee Bank, which originated in 1894 as a building and loan association housed in a classroom at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. Liberty Bank and Trust Co. says the bank’s first acquisition in Alabama continues 10 years of rapid expansion. – AP/NPCO
