Airbus, Bombardier deal moving forward

A deal between European aircraft giant Airbus and the Canadian firm Bombardier — which is expected to lead to a new final assembly line in Mobile — has received regulatory approvals, the two companies say, and will move ahead July 1. Alabama wins Silver Shovel

Economic success stories from Mercedes’ new Global Logistics Center in Bibb County to Blue Origin’s plans to build rockets in Huntsville earned Alabama a Silver Shovel award from Area Development Magazine. Standard Furniture acquires Albany Industries

Bay Minette’s Standard Furniture, an affiliate of Aterian Investment Partners, has acquired Mississippi-based Albany Industries, which makes upholstery. Furniture Today calculates that the acquisition will position Standard among its top ten “Key Furniture Resources.” — Furniture Today

“Pill Mill” case nets state legislator

State Rep. Ed Henry (R-Hartselle) turned himself in last week on charges related to a clinic dubbed a “pill mill” by investigators. The clinic’s director last year pleaded guilty to multiple charges including drug distribution and health care fraud. Henry was charged for making agreements to funnel patients to the clinic and making false claims that overcharged Medicare. – Montgomery Advertiser
