Trae Catrett, of Wilkins Miller LLC, has passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant examination and has been promoted to senior accountant. Also Scott Province has been accepted to the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants Leadership Academy and Mandy Parker has been appointed to serve on the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants Young CPA Cabinet.
Janie Fowler, a health, safety and environmental coordinator at Faurecia’s automotive seating plant in Cottondale, was one of two company employees awarded the 2016 STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Production) Ahead Award from the Manufacturing Institute.
Mike Washburn has been named SunSouth Bank’s new chief banking officer. Washburn has nearly 40 years of experience.

Trustmark has named Debbie Hardee community bank president for the Brewton market. John Barnett, who has served as community bank president, has been named senior vice president and trust officer.
William Shurett has joined United Bank as vice president and community bank business lender. Also, Scott Hehman has joined the bank as retail banking officer and branch manager in Loxley.
Regions Financial Corp. has elected 11 directors to one-year terms. They are: Carolyn Byrd, David Cooper Sr., Don DeFosset, Eric Fast, O.B. Grayson Hall Jr., John Johns, Ruth Ann Marshall, Susan Matlock, John Maupin Jr., Charles McCrary and Lee Styslinger III. Also, George Bryan retired as a director from the company.
Progress Financial Corp. has re-elected Jim Caudle Jr., Lee Hoekenschnieder and Eric Janssen to serve on its board of directors.
John Sherman has been elected president and CEO of Coca-Cola Bottling Company United Inc. and will succeed Claude Nielsen. Nielsen will continue to serve as chairman of the board.
Jacksonville State University Computer Science Professor Guillermo Francia has been named a Fulbright Scholar by the U.S. Department of State.

Gregory Davis, Jefferson County’s chief coroner and medical examiner, has been presented the Milton Helpern Award by the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.
A native of Bessemer and a graduate of the University of Alabama, Vicki Hollub has become the first female CEO of a major oil company in the United States. She has succeeded retiring CEO Stephen Chazen at Occidental Petroleum Corp.
