Lesley Baker, a manager with Russell Thompson Butler & Houston LLP, has completed the certification process with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for financial forensics.

Cayenne Creative has hired Morgan Sawyer as production manager, Christina Helton as account manager, Hilliary Hallman as social media coordinator, and Catherine Farlow as copywriter.

Aerospace

Larry Mack has been named deputy director of the Office of Human Capital at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville. Mack has more than 20 years’ experience in this field. 

Banking

ServisFirst Bank has promoted Jim Holtkamp to first vice president, commercial banking, and Misty Hall to branch officer, Research Park Banking Center.  In addition, Denise Armstrong, loan assistant in the Huntsville branch, has been named the 2015 Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County Most Valuable Employee in the medium category. 

Regions Bank announced that Alan McKnight has joined Regions Wealth Management as chief investment officer and that John Parker has been named head of Regions Institutional Services. In addition, Regions Financial Corp., parent of Regions Bank, has elected its board directors, including George Bryan, Carolyn Byrd, David Cooper Sr., Don DeFosset, Eric Fast, O.B. Grayson Hall Jr., John Johns, Ruth Ann Marshall, Susan Matlock, John Maupin Jr., Charles McCrary and Lee Stylsinger III. Also, James Malone has retired from the board after serving since 1994. 

Business Advisors

Transworld Business Advisors, of Birmingham, announced its affiliation with Rick Owen. He will focus on the Central Alabama region. 

Communications

Jessika Kirkland, visual communications expert with FastSigns of Mobile, has completed a sales boot camp training program at the company's corporate headquarters in Dallas. 

Construction

Doster Construction Co. has hired Allan Dedman to serve as its vice president and Birmingham division manager. Dedman has 24 years of experience in the field. 

Larry Lacey has joined DeAngelis Diamond Healthcare Group as operations manager. He has 34 years of experience in the industry. 

Capstone Building Corp. has added Ronnie Bennett as senior estimator. 

Michael Thompson, president and CEO of Thompson Tractor Co. Inc., has been named the Associated Builders and Contractors of Alabama Cornerstone Award winner for 2015.

Mungo Homes has appointed its 2015 Huntsville Realtor Advisory Board. The members are Kristina Bass, David Benefield, Darlene Brown, Ronnie Harris, Jessie Jefferies, Michelle Omenski, Amanda Power, Jenny Savage, Bill Stewart, John Thomas, Trevor Trainer and Samantha Walker.

Consulting

Briana Dudley, project manager at Corsini Consulting Group LLC, has completed the certification training for TTI's Success Insights DISC & Motivators Assessments. This certifies Dudley as a professional behavioral analyst and a professional motivators analyst.

Education

Wallace State Community College President Vicki Hawsey Karolewics has been named The Cullman Times 2015 Distinguished Citizen of the Year. 

Joel Anderson, chairman and director of Anderson Companies, has been awarded an honorary bachelor of business administration degree from the University of North Alabama. In addition, Charles Anderson Sr., an entrepreneur, philanthropist and alumnus of UNA, was presented the national 2015 Horatio Alger Award from the Horatio Alger Association. 

Snead State Community College Foundation appointed Bobbie Glassco, of Horton, to its board of directors. 

John Beehler has been named the 12th president of Jacksonville State University. He succeeds William Meehan, who retires at the end of this month and held the post for 16 years. 

Auburn University at Montgomery's Scharff-Olson Kinesiology Lab Professor Michele Olson has been named to Shape magazine's advisory board.

Auburn University Professor Bruce Tatarchuk, of the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, has been honored with the Southeastern Conference's Auburn University Faculty Achievement Award for 2015.

University of Alabama Professor Walt Enders is the 2015 recipient of the Burnum Distinguished Faculty Award. Enders is a professor of economics in the Culverhouse College of Commerce. 

Engineering

Thompson Engineering has added Johnny Carr, Greg Lowe and Matt Chelette to its Birmingham team. 

Jason Lowe, who serves as office manager in the Huntsville office of Barge Waggoner Sumner and Cannon, has been named one of the firm's new vice presidents. John Smith, who serves as office manager in the firm's Birmingham office, has been added to the firm's board of directors.

Three Hargrove Engineers + Constructors teammates were recognized by the Mobile Area Council of Engineers at their annual banquet. They are Alex Bell, who was awarded chemical engineer of the year; Jake Parker, who received the electrical engineer of the year and Carl Powell, who took home the mechanical engineer of the year. 

Investment Advisory

Mitchell McLeod Pugh & Williams, of Mobile, has named Bragg Van Antwerp a shareholder and managing director of the firm. Van Antwerp joined the firm in 2013. 

Highland Associates, of Birmingham, has promoted R. Scott Graham to chief investment officer, Paige Daniel and Michael Lytle to principals, and J. Michael Thomas to consultant.

Legal 

Baker Donelson has elected 14 new shareholders including Thomas Buchanan, Kevin Garrison and Catherine Crosby Long, who are in the firm's Birmingham office. In addition, the firm has named Jenna Bedsole chair of its Labor and Employment Group.

Gibson Vance, principal with Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles PC, has been appointed to serve on the plaintiffs steering committee for multidistrict litigation surrounding the data breach affecting customers of Community Health Systems Inc.

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP has named J. Mark Hendrick as chief information officer. A. Michelle Canter has joined the firm as partner on the financial services litigation and compliance team. Also, Cathleen Moore has joined the firm’s bankruptcy, restructuring and distressed investing practice group.

Carr Allison has added Angel Darmer to its Birmingham office team.

Alice Martin has been appointed chief deputy attorney general in Alabama's Attorney General's office, following the departure of Kevin Turner.

Dr. Michael Finan has been appointed director of the University of South Alabama Mitchell Cancer Institute. Prior to this appointment, Finan served as associate director for clinical affairs and chief of the division of gynecologic oncology. 

Mary Lockwood, a licensed professional counselor, has joined the AltaCare Outpatient Psychiatry and Counseling program at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. 

William Koleszar has joined American Family Care as chief marketing officer.

Hospice of Marshall County employees Stormy Dismuke and Marie Creel have been appointed to the Alabama Hospice and Palliative Care Organization Medicaid Outreach Committee.

Brittney Smith has joined the Birmingham Business Alliance as manager of talent and workforce development. Also, Lauren Cooper has been promoted to vice president of communications.

The Human Rights Campaign Alabama has named Patricia Todd as the new state director. Todd is also a state representative.

Stirling Properties recognized Nathan Handmacher, of its Mobile office, with the bronze award for his commercial work.

Michelle Johnson has joined White-Spunner Realty as its controller. In addition, Christopher Harle has joined the firm’s commercial real estate division. 

The Birmingham Association of Realtors has named Erle Morring, of RealtySouth, its Rookie of the Year. Bill Barrick, executive director of Bellingrath Gardens and Home, has received Auburn University College of Agriculture's Outstanding Alumni Award for the Horticulture Program.
