Jeff York has joined Intermark Group’s creative department as its new creative director. In addition, Michel Lê has joined the company’s creative department as an art director.
Marlene McCain, a member and director of Warren, Averett, Kimbrough & Marino, has been appointed to the Alabama Securities Commission by Governor Robert Bentley. She will serve a four-year term on the commission. McCain has been with Warren Averett for eight years.
Fontaine Trailer Co. has promoted Alan Briley to vice president of sales and marketing. Fontaine is a platform trailer manufacturer making aluminum, steel and composite trailers.
Stephanie Crane has been elected region 2 director of the National Association of Women in Construction. Crane works for M.J. Harris Construction Services LLC.
Ginger Thompson has been promoted to assistant project manager with Gary C. Wyatt, General Contractor. Thompson has been with Wyatt for more than nine years.
Alabama State University Board of Trustees has named Joseph Silver Sr. as the university’s new president. Silver succeeds William Harris and becomes the 13th president in the school’s 145-year history.
Mayer Electric Supply Chairman and CEO Nancy Collat Goedecke has received the 2012 Women in Industry Trailblazer award from the National Association of Electrical Distributors.
LBYD Inc., with an office in Birmingham, has promoted Daniel Franklin to project manager. The firm has also promoted Nicole Sommerville to assistant project manager. LBYD is a civil and structural engineering firm.
Coca-Cola Bottling Co. United, of Birmingham, has named Nick Evans Jr. and M. Williams Goodwyn Jr. to its board of directors. Evans is chairman of ECP Benefits and ECP/Trinity in Augusta, Ga. Goodwyn is executive vice president and corporate secretary of Coca-Cola Bottling Co. United.
Buffalo Rock Co. has named Matthew Dent and Bruce Parsons to its board of directors. Dent is president and COO and Parsons is executive vice president and CFO of the company. Buffalo Rock is one of the nation’s largest privately held, family-owned Pepsi and Dr. Pepper bottlers in the nation.
Wells Fargo Insurance has named Paul Lazar senior vice president and managing director of its Alabama and Tennessee operations. He will be based in Birmingham.
Lester Killebrew, chairman of the board of SunSouth LLC, has been elected to the board of directors of the Federated Insurance Companies.
Kathryn Harrington has joined Heninger Garrison Davis. Her practice focuses on the areas of pharmaceutical and medical device litigation.
MMI Outdoor Inc., a Montgomery-based manufacturer of specialty outdoor recreation and defense products, has named Mike Jenkins IV to its board of directors.
Signal International Inc. has appointed Tom Godfrey to the position of domestic sales and marketing at the Signal Ship Repair facility in Mobile. Godfrey has 18 years of ship repair experience, with a background in planning and project management, as well as sales.
Southern Co. has named Mark Crosswhite as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Crosswhite assumes the role vacated by Anthony Topazi, who is retiring. Stanley Connally Jr. will replace Crosswhite as president and CEO of Gulf Power. John Pemberton will succeed Connally as senior vice president and senior production officer of generation at Georgia Power. Leigh Davis Perry will replace Pemberton as senior vice president and general counsel for Southern Co. operations and Southern Nuclear.
