Auto parts supplier to lay off 50 people

Fras-Le North America will lay off 50 people at its Prattville plant in February, according to public records. The layoffs will start Feb. 21, according to the Alabama Department of Commerce. Fras-Le North America is among the world's largest friction materials manufacturers. Its Prattville plant on Echlin Boulevard produces disc brake pads. – AL.com

Walter Energy bankruptcy sale delayed again

The on-again, off-again Walter Energy bankruptcy sale is off again. The Birmingham-based coal producer late Friday filed papers with the Unites States Bankruptcy Court Northern District of Alabama, Southern Division, postponing its auction for Central Appalachian and Southern Appalachian assets a fifth time. – Platts.com
