Jimmy Parnell has been re-elected as president of the Alabama Farmers Federation. Southeast Area Vice President George Jeffcoat and North Area Vice President Rex Vaughan were also re-elected. New district board members are Phillip Thompson, Dell Hill, Garry Henry and Fred Helms. Cheryl Lassiter will chair the Women’s Leadership Committee and Garrett Henry the State Young Farmers.
DeAngelis Diamond Healthcare Group has named Scott Ricks vice president of strategic development.
Jim Backes, executive vice president of Hargrove Engineers + Constructors, has been named the 2015 chairman of the board for the Construction Industry Institute.

Andrew Linn Jr., CEO of Southland International Trucks Inc., was elected chairman of the Alabama Commission on Higher Education. Larry Hughes, founder and president of Ichthus Consulting Inc., will serve as vice chairman. Sydney Raine, president of Mobile Works Inc., leads the instructional affairs committee, and Charles Ball, executive director of the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham, leads the Finance Committee.
Hay Creek Hotels, the management company for Birmingham’s historic Redmont Hotel, has appointed Joe White as the hotel’s general manager.
Dynetics, of Huntsville, has promoted Steve Cook to vice president for corporate development. Cook has been with Dynetics since 2009, after serving as manager of Ares projects for NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.
