Has Hyundai figured out a way to make buying a car not horrible?

Hyundai is rolling out its Shopper Assurance program Friday, which includes several new offers, including a three-day money-back guarantee. The program was introduced in four markets late last year. In the four markets where Shopper Assurance was tested, Hyundai says surveys showed 94 percent of customers either loved or liked the car-buying process. – AL.com

Irish-based aviation execs pleased with Mobile’s industry growth

As Mobile grows into its role as an aerospace hub it should get used to feeling ripple effects from around the world, some visitors from Ireland said Thursday. "Aviation by its nature is a global industry," said Tim Macdougald, the Dublin-based CEO of MAAS Aviation. "Aircraft don't recognize national borders." – AL.com

Alabama Power crews do a bald eagle inventory

Alabama Power employees counted a record 35 bald eagles on five company reservoirs during the annual nationwide midwinter survey in January. Ten APC full-time and contract employees on boats braved cold temperatures during the surveys on Logan Martin, Lay, Smith, Harris and Martin reservoirs on Jan. 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11, said Biologist Chad Fitch. – ANC

UA, Naval Observatory partner to improve precise timing education

The University of Alabama has partnered with the United States Naval Observatory to train UA students in precise timing and time interval technology, which is used in highly precise atomic clocks on which the U.S. military, financial sector, GPS satellites and power grids rely. – News release

UNA to host 45 teams in robotics competition

The University of North Alabama will host the 2018 UNA Robotics Competition, Saturday, Feb 24., from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m., in Flowers Hall on UNA’s campus. This will be the first time UNA has hosted an event like this, which will feature more than 200 students on 45 teams from more than 20 schools and three states. – News release
