Two Kmart stores to close in Alabama early next year
Sears and Kmart plan to shutter 32 stores nationwide in early 2017. The two merged under the same holding company in 2005 but have continued to struggle financially. The stores are expected to close in either March or April and will begin liquidation sales in Jan. 6, according to Fortune. Bentley interviews potential replacements for Sessions
There is a growing list of contenders vying to replace U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions. Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley on Thursday interviewed U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt and two of his own cabinet members as potential replacements. Revenue Commissioner Julie P. Dynetics acquires Huntsville defense tech firm
Dynetics, a large Huntsville space, defense and technology employer, is now the sole owner of Aviation and Missile Solutions. The company, which employs approximately 10, was previously a joint venture between Dynetics and Camber Corporation. Dynetics bought out Camber's stake in the company, a Dynetics spokesperson said. – WAAY
Fairhope business owners implicated in visa fraud scheme
Several Mobile and Baldwin County business owners who have been implicated in a federal fraud and money-laundering scheme, helping Chinese immigrants enter the country illegally. One Fairhope business owner has already pleaded guilty. A federal judge accepted Christopher Allen Dean's guilty plea earlier this month. He's the owner of the Eco Strong Systems, a spray foam company out of Fairhope. – WPMI
