State, local and company officials broke ground June 20 for a $37 million, 400-worker DAS North America plant in Montgomery. The company makes seat parts for Hyundai and Kia. DAS already has a 100-worker plant in Montgomery but will add 300 workers when it moves into this new plant at the Montgomery Industrial Park.

Busche Alabama, which operates a metal machining plant in Decatur, announced plans to add 300 workers over the next five to six years.

In Birmingham, coffee and tea maker Royal Cup announced a $30 million expansion, expected to create about 40 jobs. The expansion will be on property adjacent to the company’s current location.

HD Supply, a California-based supplier of maintenance and repair products, has opened a 50-employee distribution center in Shelby Commerce Park in Calera.

APR LLC, an automotive engineering firm that works to improve acceleration, braking, cornering and fuel economy for Volkswagen products, announced plans for a $4 million expansion at its plant in Opelika, adding about 50 jobs at the 74-employee firm.

Video game portal company Curse has announced that it’s relocating its corporate headquarters from San Francisco to Huntsville, bringing about 40 workers to the existing Huntsville office.

Tax abatement packages were approved in June to help solidify plans for a $48 million, 20-job expansion at Honda in Lincoln.
