JamisonMoneyFarmer Managers Pasha McAbee and Kristi Moore have recently graduated from the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Leadership Academy.
Melanie Shores, a CPA and supervisor at Barfield, Murphy, Shank & Smith, has graduated from the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Leadership Academy.
Red Square Agency, of Mobile, has recently promoted three of its employees and hired two more. Those promoted were Whitney Hill to account executive, Brittney Simms to senior production artist, and Chris Mills to user-interface/user-experience designer. Hired were Katherine Hill in the traffic department and Jackie Cooper as a graphic designer.
Aliant Bank has added Melissa Morse and KC Haririan as mortgage loan officers. Morse has more than 13 years of experience, while Haririan has 16 years of experience in the industry.
Cadence Bank has hired Brian Heslop as executive vice president for the bank’s commercial and industrial division and Jamie Burns as regional executive, private banking and wealth services for the Mid-South region. Cadence also has brought on Frank Battle and Mark Housel to serve as regional managers in the Mid-South region. In addition, Kevin McCallum has joined the bank’s wealth management team as financial advisor and senior investment officer.
FirstBank Mortgage Partners has hired six employees, with Terri Zellner hired as the mortgage closing manager who will oversee the division. The other new hires are Brenda Graham, Lesley Hill, Cora McDaniel, Nicole Norman and Loretta Rhodes.
Regions Financial Corp. has named John Owen head of business lines, responsible for consumer services and lending, wealth management and business services. Regions’ Chief Marketing Officer Scott Peters will succeed Owen as head of consumer services. In addition, Keith Herron will now serve as head of strategic planning and execution, in addition to continuing to serve on the company’s operating committee.
ServisFirst Bank of Huntsville has promoted Amanda Weaver to assistant vice president, private banking officer, and Christian Ware to assistant vice president of correspondent banking. In addition, ServisFirst Bank has expanded its correspondent banking division into Georgia and Tennessee, and named Stephen Shelton and Richard Lane as senior vice presidents, correspondent banking officers for the company.
Southern States Bank has named Mary Cummings to its Birmingham Advisory Board. Cummings is the manager of the audit department of Frost Cummings Tidwell Group LLC and has 12 years of accounting experience.
The U.S. Green Building Council – Alabama Chapter has elected its director and officers for 2012. The Gulf Coast branch directors are Green Suttles, Tammy Clark and Neil Johnston. Central branch directors are Brian Barrontine, Jim Carroll, Craig Elliott, Scott Steen and Desmond Wilson. Birmingham branch directors are T.J. Fincher, Allison Floyd, David Green, Derek Henry, Keith Johns, Joe King, Jeet Radia and Brandon Robinson. North branch directors are Scott Beck, Darryl Bird, Joe Cooper and Andrea Paseur. Officers are Chairman Christian Rogers, Vice Chairman Chris Miller, Past Chair and Treasurer Robin White, Secretary Amanda Gale, Immediate Past Chairman Andrew York and Executive Director John Roper.
Robert Blakely has been named the new vice president for institutional advancement at Birmingham-Southern College. Prior to joining BSC, he served as director of development for Samford University’s Brock School of Business.
Jason Hill, CPA, has joined engineering and architectural firm Barge, Waggoner, Sumner & Cannon Inc. as its chief financial officer. Hill has 10 years of accounting experience.
LBYD Inc. has promoted Jeff Alexy and Taylor Eidson to project engineer. LBYD is a civil and structural engineering firm with offices in Birmingham and Huntsville, as well as offices in Georgia and Florida.
Tad Nelson has joined Professional Service Industries Inc.'s Birmingham operations as project specialist. PSI is an independent engineering and testing firm, as well as a consulting engineering firm.
Fi-Plan Partners, of Birmingham, has added Keri Fish as branch operations manager. Fish has more than 12 years of experience in the financial industry. In addition, Fi-Plan has promoted Franklin Bradford to senior vice president and wealth consultant.
Raja Mahtani, a financial professional with the Alabama Gulf Coast branch of AXA Advisors LLC, has attained membership in the industry’s Million Dollar Round Table.
Wealth management advisors C. Hodges Harty III and S. Wesley Carpenter have formed The Harty Carpenter Group in the Merrill Lynch Mobile branch office.
DST Health Solutions, of Birmingham, has added Teri Mullaney and Chris Henry to its executive team. Mullaney has 20 years of experience in corporate strategy and solutions management, and will serve as DST's vice president, business solutions. Henry is a seasoned sales executive who will serve as DST's vice president of sales and account management.
Alfa Insurance has named Al Schellhorn chief underwriting and development officer. Schellhorn’s promotion follows the retirement of Wyman Cabaniss. Schellhorn also will continue to oversee business intelligence, analytics and strategic marketing.
Palomar Insurance Corp. has promoted Sonya Berryman to senior vice president of insurance services. Berryman has been with Palomar for 25 years.
Alabama Association for Justice Deputy Executive Director Justin Bailey has earned the certified association executive credential from the ASAE, a national organization for association executives.
Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz P.C. has named D. Keith Andress shareholder for the Alabama offices. Andress is assuming the role from Timothy Lupinacci, who served as managing shareholder for five years. In addition, the firm has named Stacey Davis, of its Birmingham office, Pro Bono Attorney of the Year. Davis was recognized for her work with the Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival in Birmingham. Ten attorneys from the Birmingham office have been ranked as leading practitioners in the 2012 edition of Chambers USA. University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital doctors Scott James and William O’Byrne are among the 2012 recipients of Proventix Systems Inc.’s Lathem Physician Leadership Award in Hand Hygiene winners. James is an infectious disease/virology specialist and O’Byrne is an anesthesiologist. Proventix is a Birmingham-based healthcare technology company.

The Decatur-Morgan County Convention and Visitors Bureau hired Leonard Morris II as its new director of special events and sports marketing. Morris will serve as the CVB’s liaison to special events in Morgan County and help attract new sporting events.
