A month of achievements in Alabama business
The Love Dental Clinic, located at the U.S. Army Base Fort Benning in Georgia, received the LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Birmingham-based Robins & Morton managed the $15 million design-build renovation for the Huntsville Center of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Army Medical Command.
Airbus has received the Project of the Year award from the Mobile Area Council of Engineers.
Auburn University has received the Andrew Heiskell Award for Innovation in International Education as a result of its partnership with Keimyung University in South Korea in creating the Korea Center on campus. The center has been named a Korean government-sponsored King Sejong Institute.
Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP has been named the 2015 Alabama Firm of the Year by Benchmark Litigation. This is the fourth consecutive year the firm has received a Benchmark Litigation award.
The Children’s of Alabama Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine has received reaccreditation from the College of American Pathologists. It performs approximately 1.7 million tests per year for its inpatients and outpatients.
Dauphin Island Sea Lab has received a $35,000 donation from ExxonMobil Corp. in support of graduate students fellowships, its K-12 teacher training program and BayMobile, a mobile coastal marine science program. In addition, ExxonMobil donated $32,750 to DISL’s public aquarium.

Stifel Financial Corp.’s Public Finance group ranked first in number of negotiated financings, with 40 issues totaling $479.4 million in Alabama through its acquired firm Merchant Capital, according to Thomson Reuters SDC.
The University of Alabama’s Alabama Innovation and Mentoring of Entrepreneurs Center has been selected by the National Science Foundation as an Innovation Corps site, one of only three in the Southeast.
